Bringing together a mouth-watering array of food produced by local growers in Tipperary, this annual event is a food-lover’s paradise. The festival gives visitors the opportunity to browse, taste and buy produce from a huge range of exhibitors that will line the Boardwalk and in the Gallery at The Source Arts Centre, Thurles with their stalls. In addition to the beautiful food, there will be a large number of beautifully produced arts and crafts stalls where you can buy the perfect gift. This will be a fantastic Free Family Day out so bring the kids and the grandparents – there is no entry charge so it’s a great way to enjoy the bank holiday weekend.

Catherine cooking up a storm
Chef Catherine Fulvio, one of Ireland’s top culinary stars, is coming to the stage in the Source as part of the Tipperary Fayre 2012. Already a firm favourite amongst foodies, Catherine is an award-winning food writer, TV Chef and proprietor of Ballyknocken House & Cookery School, in Co. Wicklow.
Growing up on a working farm, Catherine has a strong connection with the land and appreciates the importance of fresh, quality, seasonal ingredients in producing flavoursome food and the rewards that it brings. Following the success of her first cookbook, Catherine’s Italian Kitchen, and with three TV series behind her Catherine is now a household name. Her latest cookbook “Catherine’s Family Kitchen” is a collection of delicious, do-able dishes for all occasions.
Bringing her passion and flair for good quality ingredients, Catherine is going to showcase some of her favourite summer dishes. Tickets are on sale now at the Source on 0504 90204 or online. Catherine will be putting up the apron at 4.30pm on Saturday 2nd June. Come along and learn how to create mouth-watering dishes for your family and friends to enjoy. Catherine’s demo is just one of the series of demonstrations lined up. Denis from Premier Meats will be holding a butchery demonstration art 12.30 where he’ll be sharing his skills and you’ll get the opportunity to learn about all the different cuts of meat and the best way to cook the different cuts. Naomi from Naomi’s Café is focusing on healthy lunchboxes that children will eat at 2pm so if you have children who don’t eat their lunch, come and learn the many secrets to get them to enjoy what you make.
